MISSION
Indie Rights (previously Indie Co-op) is a subsidiary of Nelson Madison Films. Based on the experience of founders, Linda Nelson and Michael Madison, the need for a new type of distribution for independent films is evident. Thousands of great independent films are made each year and never find an audience. They play at film festivals all over the world and are never discovered by the sales agents and distributors that frequent only the top tier festivals, such as Sundance and Cannes.  These festivals used to be filled with fresh original voices from new talent, but now act as advertising vehicles for “classic divisions” of major studios or showcases for already established actors, directors and producers. Film markets, like AFM, are too costly and complex for most independent filmmakers.

Indie Rights offers distribution services to filmmakers who have feature-length films that have not found an audience. We also arrange licensing of film content to qualified buyers.

Finding an audience for your independent films has never been easier.  New ditigal distribution platforms exist that will allow you to benefit directly for your work.  Indie Rights was formed to help you find your audience.  Much of the work can be done by you, but if you want or need help creating the materials necessary to distribute your film, we can help.

DISTRIBUTION SERVICES
If you own rights to a feature film and you need help with distribution, we offer the following distribution services:

• Poster Design
• Website Design
• Creation of Myspace Profile
• Creation of inDplay Profile (needed for Distribution)
• Creation of Press Kit
• Creation of a Festival Strategy
• Preparation of distribution deliverables.

If your film is ready for distribution, i.e. you already have the above items listed above ready to go, we are prepared to help you license your rights so that you can focus on making movies.  How much you participate in the process is up to you.  The more you do, the more money you will save and the number of people that get to see your film will increase.  We are not interested in purchasing your rights and believe that filmmakers should get to retain the rights to their films.

PRICING

Much of the work can be done by you, but if you want or need help creating the materials necessary to distribute your film, we can help. Creation of distribution materials is essential and we can quote you reasonable prices for any of the services you need. You tell us your budget and we’ll tell you what we can give you. If you prepare your own materials, we will help you find the distribution you want for 20% of gross revenues earned and you will be paid as revenue is earned.

We believe that filmmakers deserve to earn revenue from their films and that the days of distributors taking film rights from filmmakers without any intention of returning revenue to the filmmaker are over.
