Based on the experience of its founders, Linda Nelson and Michael Madison, the need for a new type of distribution for independent films is evident. Thousands of great independent films are made each year and never find an audience. They play at film festivals all over the world and are never discovered by the sales agents and distributors that frequent only the top tier festivals, such as Sundance and Cannes. These festivals used to be filled with fresh original voices from new talent, but now act as advertising vehicles for "classic divisions" of major studios or showcases for already established actors, directors and producers. Film markets, like AFM, are too costly and complex for most independent filmmakers.
Indie Rights offers technology services to filmmakers who have feature-length films that have not yet found an audience. We also arrange licensing of film content to qualified buyers. Finding an audience for your independent films has never been easier. New ditigal distribution platforms exist that will allow you to benefit directly from your work. Indie Rights was formed to help you do this. Much of the work can be done by you, but if you want or need help distributing your film, we can provide that help.
Indie Rights specializes in digital placement of movies and has excellent relationships with all the major platforms so that your film can be available to audiences through such popular platforms as Google Play, Roku, iTunes, Hulu, Playstation, YouTube Movie Rentals, Snagfilms, and Vudu as well as the most popular DTC apps for Facebook. Our services are non-exclusive, we charge no up-front fees and we work with all our filmmakers to educate them about the use of the most innovative marketing and social media tools available for marketing independent film.

If you own rights to a feature length movie and you need help placing your movie on premium digital platforms, we offer the following:
- Direct placement on Google Play, YouTube Movie Rentals, Roku, Amazon DVD, Amazon VOD HD, Amazon Prime, ViaWia, Snagfilms and others (no middlemen)
- Aggregation for iTunes, Hulu, Playstation, Vudu
- Creation of Facebook Movie Pages (Basic Page is $100)
- Creation of Facebook Ads ($100 for 2 Ads)
- Creation of a Facebook Advertising Strategy (Based on your Budget and what you need)
- Creation and Monitoring of Advertising For Facebook (Monthly Fee)
- Facebook Content Management (Monthly Fee)
- Creation of Custom Sales Apps for Facebook ($500)
If your film is ready for placement, i.e. you already have the deliverables ready to go, we are prepared to help you license your rights so that you can focus on making movies. How much you participate in the process is up to you. The more you do, the more money you will save and the number of people that get to see your film will increase. We are not interested in purchasing your rights and believe that filmmakers should get to retain the rights to their films.
Preparation Of Deliverables & Placement on Platforms
Much of the work can be done by you, but if you want or need help creating the materials necessary to distribute your film, we can help. Creation of distribution materials is essential and we can quote you reasonable prices for any of the services you need. We will place your movie on digital platforms for 20% of gross revenues earned and you will be paid quarterly, as revenue is earned. We never deduct expenses from your distribution revenue and our services are always non-exclusive.
We believe that filmmakers deserve to earn revenue from their movies and that the days of distributors taking movie rights from filmmakers without any intention of returning revenue to the filmmaker are over.
